Gifts to establish an endowment provide lasting financial stability to help fund initiatives and opportunities that are essential for the growth of our student-athletes and the success of our programs.
Endowed funds are invested and earn income in perpetuity for the designated use. An endowed fund can be named in honor of yourself, your family, or someone else that you might designate.
The most pressing need for Illini Athletics is the resources to meet the estimated $13.2 million scholarship obligation for nearly 500 student-athletes per year. While much of the athletics scholarship funding comes from annual I FUND memberships, a scholarship endowment guarantees you will have an impact on Illinois student-athletes in perpetuity.
Coaching is critical to on-field success. Establishing a head coach position endowment ensures that Fighting Illini Athletics will have the resources necessary to hire and retain the top coaching talent in the nation now, and for years to come.
Endowments that support student-athlete development, training and wellness programs ensure that our coaches have the tools to attract the best and brightest student-athletes, and that we can provide a world-class experience as they compete at the highest level of collegiate athletics.
